The spray drying technology
Spray drying is one of the most convenient techniques for producing powders directly from pumpable feeds.

It involves the atomization of feed to a spray of droplets which are contacted with hot air in a drying chamber. The sprays are produced by a rotary (wheel) atomizer or a nozzle atomizer.
Evaporation of moisture from the droplets and formation of dried particles proceed under controlled temperature and air flow conditions in a continuous operation.

Depending on the process parameters and by correct selection of the dryer, it is possible to meet specified powder properties e.g. residual moisture content, particle size distribution, bulk density and particle morphology.
